I can't count the number of times I've tried to post this week. No matter what I write I can't hit the delete button fast enough. Sadly that's the way it's been going with crafting too. Lately, I feel like hitting delete on every project I start. My thoughts have been all over the map and I can't seem to focus my energy in any one area. Any ideas on how to jump start a creative lull?
But I do have one good thing to share. Look what we found at a local Indian market we discovered recently.
Anything made by Pillsbury seems hardly "authentic", but it was mighty tasty and I would have bought it just for the package alone.
And thank you everyone for the lovely comments about my hedgepom! I'm always thrilled when people enjoy something I've made. I really appreciate each and every comment, so mahalo nui loa!
I can totally empathize with the crafting funk, I just had one of those myself. Thankfully, I think I'm finally starting to resurface. I'm no good at advice, but I guess you just have to keep at it, picking up one thing, putting it down when it just gets too frustrating, and picking up something else. Eventually your mood will lift, or a project will fall into place, and you'll feel better again. Treat yourself to something small but special (chocolate? tea? fabric?), hopefully there will be a row of some trouble-free days with Buddy, and I know you'll be posting your usual fantastic creations again soon. Hang in there!

The pillsbury doughboy pushing Indian food... that seems kinda wrong. But, hey, if it was tastey and saved you time, all the better!
I hope you get out of your funk soon. I often suffer from all sorts of funks, and they are never really enjoyable.

that's funny - the pillsbury dough man loves indian food (*as he stretches out his arms in love*).
crafting can be a cyclical thing for me. the more i craft the more i craft ... until i just can't craft no more. sometimes the pauses between creations make the process that much more enjoyable when we create. maybe this is the world asking you to slow down and refocus.

It does seem a bit odd that the Pillsbury Doughman does Indian food. Where is this Indian market? I know your creative mojo will return...you must be in the "thinking" phase;)

I wish I could help, but I seem to be in a dip myself. I've got a ton of projects planned, but can't seem to get any of them started. The doughboy looks like he's saying "Yay! Indian food!

Huh. The Doughboy is Indian. Who knew.

sometimes other blogs inspire me...i saw a quilt on one blog and "plan" to try it and i also saw some "sewn" amy butler bags that people have made and i want to try that -- though it's the getting started part that's hard...or doing a swap can inspire you to create something...

Well, I think sometimes there is too much inspiration... After I discovered this amazing international blogland three months ago I was overwhelmed by all this creativity and got a bit paralyzed. I made a short blog watching break and everything was okay again.
I guess you've got too many ideas and want to do everything at the same time... do not craft for a while, on purpose and make a fresh start after this vacation would be my suggestion.
By the way, enjoyed one of your deleted posts, the picnic thing - found nothing wrong with it ;-)

I hve no idea what paratha is, but it does look tasty! In terms of creative blocks: if I have one, I just go ahead and roll with it. No crafting till something hits me. If it doesn't really wokr once I start working on it, I just put it down till I really feel like analyzing why it's not working for me. A lot of times I'll go ahead and show it to someone else just to see their take on it. I doubt that's helpful, but there it is anyway. I just can't visualize you not creating something amazing! Everything I've seen you make blows me away with cuteness and skill!

mmmm, i love indian food(india cafe here i come!). crazy with the doughboy though! where is this market? you must live in town. nothing as interesting out here on the leeward side...
love the hedgepom, btw! definitely a cyclical thing with creativity. life itself generally is that way. sometimes doing something different really helps. i will go to the art academy to get myself thinking of the creative process and that will usually give me the kick i need. i got to paint the other day there with daughter's class and it really got me thinking of color and letting go. i know that sometimes having a public forum like a blog makes me feel like i have to craft all the time. a break is usually all i need to hit the crafting mojo again.

lol, I live in Singapore and we get Pillsbury indian food here too. I'm indian, eat those all the time, and think it tastes pretty authentic. *grin*
