Even though I fully enjoyed Fat Tuesday (I ate 4 malasadas yesterday) and recognized that Fat Tuesday has to happen on a Tuesday, I don't know why I'm shocked to discover that today is Wednesday. I can't have it be Wednesday because I'm not even close to completing everything I need to get done by Friday.
Thanks everyone for all the nice comments on the kokeshi doll pin. I was surprised and flattered to see that she even got a mention on Whip up. I'm still in a race to finish the three I'm going to make for Buddy's teachers for girls day this Friday. Luckily my mom offered to make the mochi so I can scratch that off my list.
I better get busy so I'll leave you with some links and the five things I did this weekend (via Red Current):
Links:
Tokyo Street Style - I love looking at street fashion
Radley - I just found out about this brand via a photo at Yarnstorm, but I couldn't find an American distributer. Just as well I guess, because I love all of it. Click here and I dare you not to love them all as well. (Added: Oh no, I found a distributer.)
Mary Blair handkerchiefs and a week of Mary Blair posts found via A Sampler of Things
5 Things I did this weekend:
1. Went to a farewell party for a co-worker at a bar in the middle of the strip club/nudie bar section of town, and no, there wasn't any stripping at the bar we were at, but I did have the darndest time trying to find the place
2. Spent way too much money at Home Depot
3. Watched My Neighbor Totoro
4. Finally won an auction for a vintage children's cookbook on ebay after 5 attempts
5. Got covered in paint Painted the spare room in the house, or rather started painting the spare room since it's still not done
Oops, I almost forgot, Project Spectrum starts today. March's colors are red and pink!
I saw that Radley wallet on Yarnstorm, too. Too bad that they don't sell it in the US. I would love one.
I love watching My Neighbor Totoro. The 2 little girls reminds me of me and my sister when we were kids.

I saw several mentions about you on Whip Up and was going to email you about them- I'm so glad you saw them! Very well deserved! We're making mochi tomorrow, too, but have yet to take out Stinky's doll and accessories. :-P How did Friday creep up so fast? ;-) Barb will be so thrilled to hear about Totoro!! And I had a good giggle on your behalf thinking about navigating my way around the nudie end of town. ;-) Can't wait to see what you come up with for Project Spectrum! Take care, Myra! :-)

Oh my, malasadas! I'm so jealous, and my mouth is watering! And you got them at Leonards? I have a bumper sticker from there. My mom used to make a huge batch of malasadas, and before delivering them to all the relatives we used to gorge ourselves on them. A dozen wasn't out of the question. I can't believe it now, but it wasn't hard then. Kids can eat so much.
Good luck finishing your beautiful kokeshis by Friday! You can do it!

How dare you find a distributor for the Radley bags. That's surely just going to lead me into trouble!

I'll be sending you super fast finishing vibes from class tonight--hope you get all those sweet little pins finished!
My googling skills must suck because that article was not pulled up when I was looking for an ichigo daifuku recipe, makes me want to try all over again!
I only had one malasadas on Monday night--sadly no one brought any in on Tuesday. Oh well, won't stop me from eating them all year round :)

Thanks for the links. I totally love the Radley stuff. I collect scottie dogs and OMG the Radley scottie is so cute! Your hinamatsuri pins all came out adorable. I love chichi dango too! Yum! I got some at my daughter's volleyball practice!
