We stopped by our local Japanese bookstore the day I left for Vegas and I spotted this magazine on the sale rack. Although it was sealed, I knew it was some kind of fashion magazine and the one dollar price tag made it too hard to pass up. I dropped it in my carry-on and was so excited when I finally opened it up on the airplane. Sesame is a Japanese kids fashion magazine or rather a fashion magazine for the kids' mothers. Everytime I look at it, it makes me want to design kids fashion too.
And my absolute favorite pages from this issue was the "Grand Prix Kids Fashion Contest" section. The editors of the magazine visited the major cities in Japan and invited the kids from that city to showcase their fashion style for the magazine.
