Hey there, how you been? As usual it's been crazy around here. Buddy turned six and we spent most of last week running around getting things ready for his birthday party, so blogging got pushed to the side. And thanks so much for all the comments on my crochet babies! I've been toying with the idea of making some to sell since a lot of people expressed interest in buying one. But it'll probably be after Christmas since I have a thousand things on my to-do list that need to get done before then.
Speaking of that to-do list, cleaning my craft room this weekend was number one on the list but instead I became consumed with making these wee angel ornaments. Like most things I've been making lately they stand at just under 2 inches tall. But guess what they're made from? Old cereal boxes! Well, that and wood beads, floss, paint and a whole lot of glitter and glue.
Recently, I've been thinking a lot about trying to incorporate recycled materials into my crafting and cereal box cardboard turned out to be just the right thickness for these ornaments. I've always been a huge fan of retro Christmas ornaments from the 50s and 60s so that's the look I was going for. I don't know how successful I was, but I'm pretty pleased with how they came out.
Hope everyone one has a productive week since Christmas is only a hop, skip and a jump away! And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating this week!
