There's a party in my tummy, so yummy! So yummy!

                                                    Mwaaahaaa!!

Last May Michal posted the funniest pics of an awesome monster cupcake she bought and I've been dying to make some for Buddy to take to school ever since. And of course what day screams monster cakes like no other? So this is my version with way more hemajang mouths.

I baked these using a chocolate cupcake recipe from Jenn that turned out to be the perfect denseness for what I needed. I think if I had done my usual box mix they would have been too moist and crumbly and I would've had a hard time doing the mouths without it falling apart. I also used a super ono recipe for the frosting (from Jenn as well) in lieu of canned frosting which always tends to be too creamy and not stiff enough for my liking.

The eyes are mini marshmallows sliced in half and teeth are bits of cut marshmallows. I piped the eyes with melted chocolate and the horns with more frosting. As usual my piping sucks but I think this time my sloppy piping actually makes the monsters look even crazier which is good right?

And as usual with all my cupcake projects I am up way too late so I'm off to bed now. Thanks Michal and Jenn! Happy Halloween everyone!!

Perfect! And hooray for you NOT using box mix. I TOLD YOU, BOX MIX IS THE DEVIL.

I sense that there's been some "Yo Gabba Gabba" invading the house along with those monster cupcakes... (YUM by the way, and awesome creepy-cute)!

Gorgeous! I must be more creative with my cupcakes. They tend not to last to long so I don't get to spend that much time on them. Here's some incentive though. I'm actually off to make one of your snap baskets - I love that tutorial.

These look wonderful!

I loved these so much I made some of my own, thank you for the inspiration :)

fantastic! I love the horns and the mouths!! The cake looks like it's a fantastic consistency.

{screams} Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! These are so ADORABLE. I think your piping is perfect. Dang, what lucky lucky kids to have been the recipients of these!!!

you are the cupcake queen! Now if they were only dairy free!
