Finally, a completed craft to share! I swear I must craft at a snails pace because I take forever to finish anything. Of course it doesn't help that I don't have an "official" craft space. So everytime I craft I have to haul things out from every corner of the house and then put them back before I go to bed. My sewing table is a little folding table that I set up on the living room floor, and I use my thigh to push the pedal. Kelly over at Buzzville had a post a while back about not having a special crafting space either. I guess I'm not the only one who longs for a creative space to call their own.
Well enough monku-ing (complaining), this is a little mouse applique pouch I made using some of the "eek! mouse" fabric I bought a couple of months ago. The pouch idea is from one of my Japanese craft books, but I made the pattern up myself. I used tan fabric for the mouse applique and then shaded it with fabric stencil creme. It's based on the little mouse just to the right of the button. The pouch is on it's way to someone whom I've owed something for quite a while now, I just hope she likes mice.

so cute!
i have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks, and i am going to show off my sweet red purse again! i hope it doesnt steal attention away from the bride!

Awesome. Fabric stencil cream? You're a crafting goddess. You should have your own creating space.

That's very cute! One of my JCB (Japanese Craft Books) has a pattern like that too and I really like it. You did a great job recreating it and that applique is fantastic!

I love it! does the cream paint make the fabric stiff like the acrylic paint does? sometimes I use the stuff you can mix with acrylic paint to make it for fabric painting but it still makes everything so stiff...I bet the cream paint works much better...and gives you better shading. the mouse looks great.

monkutare! heehee, that's me--i don't have a craft space either! :( but then i have a terrible habit of not putting away my craft things so at least i don't have to take it out all the time :)

That's the cutest pouch. I love the flap top and closure, and the way hand applique and embroidery (those wee flowers!) really personalize a project. I hope you find your Rosemary Wells pouch, too!

Oh Myra this is so unbelievably beautifully cute!!! The stitching is so imaculate and tidy! And the colours work really well with each other.
I know what you mean about not having a craft space. I just use my room and never really put htings away cos I'll use it the next day. Eventually my room is just a huge mess with craft supplies and uni stuff strewn all over the place!

Your mousey bag is so cute, Myra! I just blogged about my crafting space and how happy I am to have it. You MUST steal a little space from somewhere for your creating. I am ten thousand times more productive since carving this space for myself.
